Blood Testing without consultation (stand alone basis)

The clinic provide the option to request blood tests without consultation*. The clinic offers a number of packages or can quote for a bespoke package of blood tests if you have specific needs.

You want to have a blood test, without seeing one of our Doctors. You may want this either it is recommended by a health professional but is not a part of recommended NHS pathway or you want it quicker or you want to reassure yourself.

Can I request or ask for any test?

​

No. Some tests will require a consultation with a doctor as certain test results may create diagnostic uncertainty or identify risk to you. We believe in having clear clinical ownership of the result.

What happens if the results are abnormal?

​

If a result is abnormal. You will have the option to discuss with the doctors at DRG Health clinic. There will be a registration and consultation charge for it.  We will not offer clinical advice without a consultation setting nor admin staff will not be able to advise you on the test result as they are not qualified to do so. Or you can contact your own NHS GP.

If in an unlikely event there is a potentially life threatening or an emergency intervention needed, then you will be contacted and if you cannot be contacted, we may contact your registered GP or other services so they can institute appropriate action. This would be only in extreme circumstances and would be undertaken to protect you.

How long does the results take?

Once the paperwork is completed the bloods will be sent to the laboratory. Result time line can vary. Most blood tests are available within 3-5 working days. Some specialised samples can take longer. It is however reasonable to contact the clinic if the results are not communicated to you after 7 working days. 

You may have to share these results with your own NHS GP. It is your responsibility to do so.

Some tests require you to not eat or drink for a certain period of time before the test. Ask if the test you are taking is a fasting test or not.
